Identity confirmation provider HooYu Identify has partnered with BCRemit, an online money transfer platform which aims to provide the lowest transfer fees in the market and differentiate themselves as a fast and convenient way to transfer money.

HooYu Identify helps speed up BCRemit’s customer on boarding by providing an innovative approach to identity verification. HooYu Identify is the first reg-tech company to combine multiple identity technologies including ID document authentication, facial biometrics, digital footprint analysis from a customer’s online history, PEPs and Sanctions checks and identity scoring.

BCRemit selected HooYu Identify to improve the customer experience when traditional identity database checks fail and also as an additional tool to verify customer identity where there was increased risk or suspicion.

Oliver Calma, Managing Director of BCRemit commented; “HooYu Identify is a great compliment to the traditional database identity check approach. Given that majority of our customers are migrant workers, HooYu Identify makes it easier for our new customers to be verified and on-boarded, particularly those who are new to the country and do not have sufficient “credit footprint”. HooYu Identify also catches fraudsters that sometimes slip through identity database checks where they have already committed identity theft and know the name and address of the person they are impersonating.”

David Pope, Director of Marketing at HooYu Identify said, “Our partnership with BCRemit shows how HooYu Identify can improve customer on boarding and can fulfil KYC and AML compliance checks without inconveniencing the end user. This enables our clients to improve conversion, still offer the consumer a smooth customer journey and comply with AML regulations”.

The HooYu Identify service is integrated into financial services firms’ online application processes. HooYu Identify cross-references and analyses data from a person’s digital footprint to confirm their real-world identity. HooYu Identify also extracts and verifies data from ID documents at the same time as authenticating the ID document and conducting a biometric facial check comparing a selfie of the customer with the facial image on their ID document.
